Designer Diaries

Your Editor is Back!

Dear Friends,

Hi there! This is your friendly neighborhood editor and author of Designer Diaries, Jill Maremont. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am back at work amongst Chicago’s finest and most award winning interior designers after an eight month hiatus. I had a fight with a car and I won.

But on a more serious note, I wanted to publically thank each and every one of you for your love, support and prayers. It is amazing to me how many good people there are in this world. Family, friends, co-workers, business partners, friends of friends and strangers reached out to me during this time with massive gestures that made an enormous difference for me and my recovery. It is just too difficult to acknowledge every individual but it is truly extraordinary.

Please continue sending good vibes to Bridget and if you haven’t joined Thoughts and Prayers for Bridget Albert, on Facebook, please do. While I have your attention, please take Oprah’s no phone zone pledge and commit to making your car a no phone zone. Now you personally know what can happen when distracted driving occurs.

I wanted to thank Olivia Flink-Larson and Michelle Deiermann for their amazing posts on Designer Diaries in my absence and Michelle’s giant contribution to the Chicago interior designers at the Susan Fredman Design Group as the acting Marketing Director. I know she will be missed by the staff. I hope that you all will continue to support my passion for interior design and for the exciting work we do at the Susan Fredman Design Group, Chicago’s most talked about residential interior design firm.

Stay tuned for previews on new projects, trends, exiting new home products, and invitations to exclusive events. Don't miss Revive your Retreat! As always we continue to provide you with the best of the best in talent, taste and responsible design.

Jill, I probably met you once when you were a little girl, but I bet I have slept in your bedroom more than once when my husband Jim and I visited your parents' home in Liberty Township, Ohio. Your dad was a good friend of Jim's from junior high on and was one of the groomsmen in our wedding. We were thrilled to meet your mom (before she was your mom) and realized very quickly that Sam had found the right woman to keep him in line. We heard of your accident last fall just before Jim and your dad's 50th high school reunion. We are both so very glad that you have recovered so well and are back at work. I love your design company and will spend more time looking at the site when I have some good open spaces in my days. Bless you and I hope your recovery continues to go well.

Lois Miller, and Jim, too
